Coach Mike Compton

Mike Compton was a pitcher for the Florida State Seminoles from 2012-2016. He posted a 12-2 record with a 2.87 ERA in 18 starts in his first season as a freshman, tying the Florida State school record for wins by a freshman with his victory against Stony Brook in the College World Series – fourth freshmen pitcher all-time at FSU to reach 12 wins. Even after undergoing Tommy John surgery after his freshman year, Mike continued to be a starter in the weekend rotation pitching in Regionals, Super Regionals, and ACC Tournament Championship games.

Since his playing days at FSU, Mike has been passing on his experience to the next generation of ball players. He specializes in pitching, focusing on mechanics and body awareness. Having players understand what their body is doing throughout the throwing process is crucial to improvement. Mike also emphasizes arm care and how to safely strengthen a pitcher’s arm during a long, strenuous season.
